The Taj Mahal is also known as the "Crown of Palaces". It is a white marble mausoleum located in Agra, India. The Taj Mahal is widely recognized as the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of world heritage. It was declared a UNESCO site in 1983.

  1. Beautiful! I was there in 2008, and I can tell you there's no photograph in the world--or photographer--that can do it justice. I stood for perhaps 20 min at the entrance, where the palace is first visible, unable to move. I didn't want to break the spell. Up close I kept touching the marble walls--I couldn't believe I was actually there.

  4. Maria,

Now that's a famous sight! Even I recognised this building. I've never seen it in real life. Actually I haven't done a lot of travelling.
